Literature Review
All good researches begin with the existing body of
knowledge as the corner stones for further development and
expansion from that basis. The doctoral students need to search
and read textbooks, academic journals, magazines and other
appropriate knowledge media on the related disciplines and topics
and compile from these reviews the relevant prior theories and
discoveries. A good literature review helps avoid ‘reinventing
the wheels’ and provide useful insights on what can and should be
researched to fill the missing links to achieve important
theoretical discovery in the body of knowledge. Literature review
helps to:
- provide useful hints on identifying outstanding research
problems;
- propose research methods;
- formulate research methods;
- guide data analysis and interpretation;
- develop an overall research plan
